The Hotel is an old coaching inn, built in around 1720. It has 13
rooms, all en suite, most of which offer sea views overlooking Arisaig
Bay and out towards the distinctive shapes of the Small Isles of Eigg
and Rum.
Arisaig has a certain magnetic charm – a real lived-in village with a
friendly feel. Once people discover Arisaig they can’t help returning
again and again, generation after generation. It is truly an area of
outstanding natural beauty, with beautiful beaches, sparkling lochs and
rugged hills.
The Crofters Rest Bar at Arisaig Hotel has regular Friday evening Traditional music sessions, as well as occasional bands coming to perform. The Arisaig Accoustic Music Club also puts on monthly (or so) concerts in the hotel.
There is plenty to do locally to keep you occupied for a week or two,
with lots of great walks, a nine hole golf course, sea kayaking and
bike hire available at the hotel, a variety of boat trips available from
Arisaig, Mallaig and Glenfinnan and a swimming pool and gym nearby in
Mallaig – just to mention a few.
Don’t make the mistake of coming for one night or two – a minimum
of 4 nights is needed to wind down and begin to discover the
attractions of the area. To get a flavour of the local area and some of
what there is to do during your visit, have a look at Facilities at the Arisaig Hotel, The Area and Activities in the Arisaig Area pages.
